Devoteam Portugal is seeking a Lead Frontend Engineer to join the Nearshore team in Lisbon, Portugal on-site, working directly with an international client based in the United Kingdom in the Tech-led Facilities Management & Infrastructure Solutions sector. You will develop and maintain frontend applications using React.js, ensure code quality through best practices, testing and performance optimization, collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs, participate in agile processes, troubleshoot technical issues, stay up to date with the latest React.js trends, and lead architectural frontend decisions while mentoring junior and mid-level engineers. Qualifications include a minimum of 6 years in frontend development with React.js, strong JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML and CSS, advanced experience with state management libraries (Redux, Context API, or similar), familiarity with RESTful APIs and modern frontend tools (Webpack, Babel, etc.), knowledge of testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library or Cypress, experience with AWS frontend services (S3, CloudFront, Lambda), proven ability to lead technical teams, and proficiency with Git/version control. Fluent English (spoken and written) is required. This is a permanent contract based in Lisbon, Portugal.
