In this role you will provide technical leadership for foundational Rider systems and the rider experience, owning a team roadmap and delivering high-impact features that affect top-line metrics. You will partner with Product, Design, Marketing, Data Science, and Analytics to define strategic direction, translate business goals into actionable projects, and manage cross-team dependencies and risks. You will ensure operational excellence through architecture reviews, observability, reliability, and on-call processes, and you will mentor team members to grow their careers. You will collaborate across engineering teams to share learnings, set standards, and identify opportunities for collaboration. You will also participate in Lyft’s broader engineering community as an interviewer. Requirements include a BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent, 5+ years of software engineering experience with technical leadership, 3+ years of people management, and experience launching consumer-facing products on growth-focused teams. Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders are required. A collaborative, low-ego mindset is essential.
