This role defines the roadmap for the compute platform, drives processor roadmap decisions across Intel, AMD, ARM, and other vendors, and optimizes fleet utilization to reduce costs while improving performance and reliability.
What You’ll Do: - Develop and champion the long-term vision and roadmap for DigitalOcean's compute platform, aligning with customer needs and company goals. - Lead processor roadmap decisions across CPU architectures (Intel, AMD, ARM), analyzing performance, cost, and market trends. - Drive fleet management, virtualization, and containerization initiatives to maximize utilization and support evolving workloads. - Collaborate with engineering, finance, marketing, and sales to ensure alignment on strategy and execution. - Engage with customers to gather feedback and translate insights into feature priorities.
Key Metrics: - Compute Platform Growth: measure adoption and expansion of virtual machines, bare metal, and container services. - Infrastructure Efficiency: monitor utilization, cost per unit, and overall operational efficiency.
What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean: - 8+ years of product management experience in compute infrastructure (cloud preferred). - Deep knowledge of CPU architectures (Intel, AMD, ARM) and ability to articulate their customer value. - Datacenter fundamentals, including rack layouts, power, cooling, and networking. - Cost optimization skills and data-driven decision making. - E
