Redwood Materials is seeking a Software Technical Program Manager to join early in a new engineering team building Battery Energy Storage System products. This role focuses on software, embedded firmware, and systems controls, and requires cross-functional collaboration across software, controls, systems, and electrical engineering to deliver scalable, reliable, and safe grid-interactive energy storage systems. You will lead cross-functional development programs for embedded firmware, energy management software, and battery management software; drive the software development lifecycle including planning sprints, backlog prioritization, standups, and reviews; define program requirements, interfaces, dependencies, and validation strategies; track milestones; support test planning and release processes; ensure change management and version control alignment with rapid iteration; proactively identify risks and mitigate blockers across the product lifecycle. Qualifications include a BS/MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; 5+ years in technical program management focused on software and firmware in hardware-integrated systems; familiarity with Agile, CI/CD, code reviews, and release planning; ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and executives; proficiency with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, MS Project, Asana; ability to thrive in a startup environment; and a passion for sustainability.
