Extreme Networks is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to innovate with generative AI and shape the future of AI-driven network management. This greenfield project will define user and product experiences and drive significant portions of the technical and scientific roadmaps. Our group develops core solutions in data mining, machine learning, anomaly detection, and natural language processing, positively impacting existing flagship products and new offerings. We are building high-performance, real-time multi-agent systems that can perceive, learn, and act intelligently on behalf of humans. You will experiment with new technologies, innovate best-in-class networking experiences, and launch state-of-the-art ML and data mining solutions. Responsibilities include leading end-to-end ML solution design, deploying scalable production systems, mentoring engineers, and driving operational excellence. Qualifications include 12+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, strong programming proficiency (Python/Java), 5+ years building large distributed cloud systems, experience with distributed data/ML tech (MapReduce, Spark, Flink, Kafka, PySpark, SageMaker), and leadership as a mentor or tech lead. Preferred qualifications include MS or PhD in CS, experience with large real-world datasets, end-to-end ML deployments, and ML optimization in PyTorch and CUDA.
