CoreWeave is the Essential Cloud for AI. The Storage team builds the world’s largest AI training and inference storage, and as a Staff Software Engineer you will own end-to-end storage subsystems—from the data path to the multi-tenant control plane—on distributed systems written in Go, Rust, and C++ and delivered via Kubernetes. Storage sits next to GPUs, so your work directly determines how fast the AI clusters train.

This is an on-site role in Sunnyvale, California. You will set technical direction for foundational storage services built from scratch, including high-performance file storage, durable block volumes, and the control plane that governs tenancy, provisioning, and data protection at exabyte scale. You will own the architecture and delivery of multi-tenant storage services, ensure efficient data paths through the control plane, and design for IO patterns created by AI pipelines, including small-file and metadata-heavy workloads, with high IOPS and sustained throughput.

You will ship storage as a first-class Kubernetes citizen: CSI drivers, dynamic provisioning, snapshots, resize, and RWO block volumes backed by public SLOs. You will work with technologies such as RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, RoCE, InfiniBand, SPDK, and distributed filesystems to improve storage performance and efficiency. You will drive reliability, durability, and observability across the storage stack using telemetry, metrics, and dashboards. You will set the technical bar: lead design reviews, mentor senior engineers, and shape how storage is built across the organization.
