Starbucks Coffee Company is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the Starbucks Engineering Platform by delivering reliable, secure, and high‑quality technologies. As a senior software engineer, you will collaborate with platform engineering teams to plan, deliver, and operate solutions, while shaping technology strategy and roadmaps for new and existing capabilities. This position requires technical leadership, deep domain expertise, and broad platform knowledge. You will communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences, build cross‑functional relationships, support development teams, design and maintain build and release processes, manage technology vendors, and ensure stability, security, and compliance of applications and infrastructure. You will implement security principles for sensitive data, develop telemetry and monitoring capabilities, maintain configurations, and uphold regulatory requirements such as PCI. The role requires experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), containerization, CI/CD tooling, and proficiency with databases and networking. The position is based in Seattle, Washington, United States, with a hybrid work arrangement.
