BJU Press is seeking an Editor to join its Editorial team in Greenville, South Carolina. The Editor will direct developmental, copy, and production editing of K–12 educational materials created from a biblical worldview for Christian schools and homeschool families. Working within a product-line team, the Editor ensures that the writer's message is clear, accurate, and aligned with product goals. After onboarding, a hybrid work arrangement may be available. Key responsibilities include Developmental Editing (evaluating manuscript structure, factual and biblical accuracy, and grade-level appropriateness; requesting information from writers as needed), Copyediting (ensuring correctness and consistency in language and detail), and Production Editing (proofreading PDF page proofs to deliver a user-friendly final product). The Editor will uphold BJU Press brand standards, communicate effectively with project teams, and complete special projects as assigned. Required qualifications include mastery of English grammar and mechanics, proficiency with The Chicago Manual of Style, and successful performance on the BJU Press editorial test. A Master’s degree in a relevant creative discipline or equivalent experience is preferred.
