About the role

Overview: The Level 1 Assistant Project Manager supports assigned project components and assists Project Managers in delivering projects safely, at high quality, and with cost efficiency.

Essential Functions:

1. Project Planning: - Collaborate with the Preconstruction and Project Support groups to proactively plan projects and maximize profitability. - Participate in project kickoff meetings and coordination sessions with estimating and support teams. - Review plans and specifications; prepare RFIs as needed. - Assist the Project Manager with schedule development. - Review vendor and subcontractor quotations for accuracy. - Assist Lead Project Manager with submittals. - Help initiate appropriate safety programs.

Project Management (Independent Activity): - Work on assigned projects in accordance with Alterman’s procedures and policies. - Maintain effective communications with appropriate Alterman personnel. - Project Development: maintain material files; create a 3-week lookahead when needed; review shop drawings. - Assist with project closeout procedures: address items on the punch list, finalize record documents, AHJ inspections, and update project descriptions and O&M manuals; attend project closeout meetings and assist with closeout documents.

3. Project Management (Direct Supervision of Project Manager): 25% - Timely inform the Project Manager of significant problems and provide recommended solutions. - Assist with project startup procedures, including: making projections and interpreting contracts, providing input to proposed project team; entering and monitori
