AppleCare Field Service Diagnostics Engineering is seeking a Tools & Automation Engineer with strong experience building automation frameworks and tools to validate diagnostic and repair tools used across Apple devices including Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and Apple Vision Pro. The role requires a self-motivated candidate with excellent cross-functional communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to rapid changes. The ideal candidate is curious, enjoys diving into technical areas, and is interested in exploring and integrating AI initiatives into existing processes. In this role you will own the team's automation strategy from concept to deployed solution, collaborate with teams across Apple, expand automation frameworks, build new tools, set up monitoring systems, and ensure readiness to test the latest Apple products while maintaining the high quality of existing diagnostic and repair systems. Qualifications include a BA/BS or equivalent experience with 5+ years of Swift and Python programming, experience building and evolving XCUITests and supporting frameworks, a strong understanding of software testing and QA methodologies, and the ability to translate user scenarios from feature descriptions into effective test plans and cases. Excellent written and verbal communication, the ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment, and Unix-based system knowledge are required. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, knowledge of Apple Service Toolkit 2 and Field Diagnostics ecosystems, exposure to
