JAPANMART is seeking a friendly, reliable Sushi/Kitchen Team Lead to oversee daily operations for our prepared foods and sushi section at the Arcadia, California location. The role requires supervising kitchen staff, ensuring quality and safety, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Employment is full-time (36–40 hours per week) with a schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays, located in Arcadia, CA. Responsibilities include supervising sushi preparation and food assembly to JAPANMART quality standards, following guidance from the Executive Chef, assisting with analysis of Profit & Loss (P&L) reports, preparing ingredients with proper portioning, and cooking items such as onigiri, soufflé pancakes, unagi bowls, and other JAPANMART offerings. You will monitor cooking times, maintain brand standards, enforce food safety and sanitation, operate kitchen equipment safely, assist with packaging, labeling, restocking, and inventory checks, and help open and close the kitchen. You will maintain speed, efficiency, and accuracy during peak hours, collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and order flow, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
