ICF is seeking a Data Scientist intern for Summer 2027. This entry-level, 10-week, full-time internship is expected to begin in June and end in August. Work may be hybrid from our offices in Reston, VA or Denver, CO, or remotely from anywhere in the United States. The intern will support energy efficiency and load management programs for utilities by maintaining and enhancing predictive analytics models. Responsibilities include analyzing large datasets spanning customer behavior, energy usage, and marketing performance, applying advanced statistical techniques, developing and executing code, validating outputs, and preparing technical reports. Qualifications include a completed bachelor’s degree or enrollment verification (or 9 graduate credits) in data science or a related field; ability to pass background checks; and eligibility to work in the United States. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in data science or a related discipline, proficiency in R and/or Python, SQL, version control with Git, and familiarity with containers (Docker) and Azure services. Familiarity with energy analytics or utilities is a plus.
