Staff Software Engineer, Distributed Data Services – Slack
Salesforce is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Slack Distributed Data Services team. You will help build and operate scalable, highly reliable backend services that power Slack’s most demanding customers, including edge caches, enterprise key management, international data residency, and image upload/download proxying. Our backend primarily uses Go and Java, with PHP/Hack for APIs. You will work with a small, experienced team to ensure low latency and high availability at global scale.
What you should have: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required. 10+ years building and operating large-scale production systems, with a track record of owning and shipping components. Strong expertise in reliable distributed systems, design, testing, debugging, and on-call operational excellence. Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills. Bonus points for Go, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and experience in regulated environments (FEDRAMP/NIST).
