Wise is seeking a Software Engineer, Screening Controls to help build and operate the control framework that screens customers, counterparties, and transactions across Wise products. Our systems prevent onboarding of sanctioned individuals and entities, identify politically exposed persons, and detect adverse media risk, while keeping the customer experience frictionless. You will collaborate with Compliance teams to determine required checks, timing, and implementation, and work with regional and growth teams to support onboarding with FinCrime screening solutions across regions. Scale and requirements include processing tens of millions of screening events with sub-second end-to-end latency targets for real-time flows, high availability, deterministic and auditable outcomes, strong data lineage, and privacy by design, with integrations to multiple data providers and regulatory lists.
