Simpson Strong-Tie is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to own features, improvements, and operational stability for a C# desktop product and its evolving web APIs. You will contribute to the migration from Google Cloud to Microsoft Azure and tackle medium-complexity modernization tasks in collaboration with senior engineers on architecture and delivery. Design and implement API endpoints and service components (ASP.NET Core) to support desktop and web clients. Own medium-sized features from design through deployment and monitoring. Contribute to the migration effort by creating service adapters, data migration scripts, and validation tooling. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and containerized deployments. Improve observability with structured logging, health checks, and Application Insights or equivalents. Document systems, create runbooks, and mentor junior engineers on best practices. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field; 3–6 years of professional software development experience. Strong C#/.NET and ASP.NET Core API experience. Experience with client-server architectures and integrating desktop clients with web services. Practical experience with at least one cloud platform (GCP or Azure); willingness to lead Azure migration tasks. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, unit/integration testing, and Git workflows. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills; excellent cross-team communication. Experience migrating legacy/desktop applications toward web-based or cloud-hosted services.
