This is a fully remote position for a Senior QA Engineer with Automation to join a well-established US education-technology company with a global presence. The role focuses on testing complex integrated web applications across UI and API layers, with an initial emphasis on manual testing and a gradual shift toward automation. You will develop and refine test plans, write and maintain automated tests (primarily using Cypress), and collaborate closely with developers in an Agile environment. You will also track and manage test cases using JIRA, TestRail, and Qmetry, and identify areas where manual testing can be automated for reliability and maintainability. Requirements include 4+ years of experience as a Manual QA at a senior level, some hands-on automation experience, an automation-oriented mindset, and a solid understanding of HTTP, HTML, AJAX, JSON, REST APIs, client-server architecture, and basic SQL. Strong written and spoken English is required; the ability to communicate in Russian or Ukrainian is a plus. Nice to have: Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium experience; familiarity with CI/CD; Agile experience; JIRA, TestRail, and Qmetry; basic Linux (Ubuntu) and Git knowledge. Compensation: Up to $4,500 gross/month. This is a stable, long-term independent contractor position; incubator arrangements are not accepted.
