Senior PHP Software Engineer – Backend & DevOps

We are looking for a Senior PHP Software Engineer with a strong focus on backend development and DevOps to advance Enova’s energy platform. You will work in a hybrid setup (Capelle aan den IJssel, Netherlands) within an Azure-based environment, developing backend features, automating deployments, and improving CI/CD processes. You will help shape the architecture to be reliable, maintainable, and scalable, and you will conduct larger refactors while applying appropriate design patterns and coding standards. You will actively develop software, dive into the existing codebase, and collaborate with other developers to realize technical improvements.

Key responsibilities: - Develop and improve the backend of our energy platform - Manage and optimize the Azure infrastructure - Improve and automate CI/CD processes - Work on monitoring, development tooling and deployment pipelines - Perform larger refactors in the existing codebase - Evolve the software architecture - Improve reliability, maintainability and scalability - Apply suitable design patterns and development standards - Conduct constructive code reviews - Discuss and justify technical choices - Mentor and support other developers - Share knowledge within the development team
