You will build intelligent systems that help people and AI agents understand complex questions, discover relevant knowledge, and accomplish tasks across Atlassian products and connected tools.

Team and context This role sits within the Search Relevance group of Intelligence & Experience. You’ll work on query understanding, search planning, and agentic retrieval, interpreting user intent, decomposing complex requests into actionable searches, incorporating organizational context, and refining search strategies as new evidence becomes available. Our work supports experiences across Rovo Search, Rovo Chat, and AI agents. You’ll collaborate with product, search infrastructure, modeling, and evaluation teams, combining applied research with production engineering to improve search quality, reliability, and efficiency.
