Emendata is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to translate open-ended questions into robust analytic solutions that drive real-world impact in healthcare program integrity. The ideal candidate operationalizes research questions into analytic frameworks, profiles data sources, builds reliable datasets, develops features, and applies statistical and machine learning methods in a disciplined, iterative process. Responsibilities include designing validation strategies, producing clear deliverables for technical and non-technical audiences, collaborating with stakeholders to incorporate feedback, and staying current with analytic methods. Qualifications include an MS or PhD in data science, computer science, statistics, or related quantitative field with at least 3 years of experience (or a bachelor's degree with 5+ years). Strong background in predictive modeling, anomaly detection, graph/network analytics, and NLP; proficiency in Python, R, or SQL; excellent communication skills and an interest in social science research. This is a full-time, onsite role in San Francisco. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. Background checks are required in line with the SF Fair Chance Ordinance.
