Senior Accountant for E-Commerce Accounting based in San Mateo, CA, on-site. This role supports full-cycle accounting for the online store, from customer orders and inventory movement through revenue, cost of goods sold, accounts receivable, cash application, refunds, and financial reporting. The position partners with Accounting, Operations, E-commerce, Supply Chain, and IT to resolve reconciliation and system integration issues involving e-commerce, order management, inventory, payment, and SAP platforms. Key responsibilities include owning full-cycle accounting for online store activity, including inventory, sales, COGS, AR, cash, refunds, credits, and related balance sheet accounts. Perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and review of transaction completeness and accuracy. Reconcile inventory subledger activity to SAP, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, returns, write-offs, and inventory reserves. Review and reconcile COGS to product sales and inventory movement, investigate margins, timing differences, and data issues. Support order-to-cash: sales orders, fulfillment, billing, revenue recognition, customer receivables, refunds, credits, and cash application. Reconcile payment processor and bank activity to customer orders, AR, and SAP postings; research unmatched/failed transactions.
