Hooper is seeking a Fire Protection Project Manager to pursue and manage new business opportunities and to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the preparation and execution of fire protection projects, ensuring cost, quality, equipment utilization, and safety objectives are met. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining strong client relationships, presenting proposals to prospective clients, and preparing project estimates, budgets, schedules, and contract negotiations. The role involves monitoring progress through site meetings, progress reports, and safety briefings, and collaborating with field supervision to ensure alignment with project plans.
The Project Manager will work with architects and engineers to resolve design-related issues, process shop drawings, and keep customers informed of progress and any impacts on design or cost. Additional duties include coordinating manpower, equipment, tools, and materials; purchasing equipment and standard materials; overseeing maintenance and safeguarding of equipment; and managing contract administration (change orders, rental equipment, timesheets, billing, expenses, collections) in collaboration with administrative staff and accounting.
Maintaining positive relationships with unions and participating in labor management committees and apprenticeship subcommittees is required, along with developing a thorough understanding of labor agreements. The closeout phase includes resolving punch list items, recording as-built drawings, and distributing operating and maintenance manuals to customers. The role also suppor
