MSA Safety is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer for its Auburn, Maine manufacturing facility (on-site). This role will lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for internal and customer issues, support supplier quality, and ensure readiness for new product introductions and process changes. The candidate will apply structured quality tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP, 8D) and Lean methodologies to reduce waste and variation while improving production capability and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include monitoring first pass yield with SPC, hosting audits, and ensuring QMS compliance through documentation control and corrective action follow-up. The role partners with Production and Manufacturing Engineering to drive process improvements, develops and maintains Control Plans and test specifications, and supports NPD/change management efforts. Qualifications include working knowledge of ISO 9001 and core manufacturing quality tools, ability to analyze data to drive improvement, effective communication, and project management skills. Travel is expected 10-25%.
