Java Technical Lead + SDD (Hybrid Madrid – Banking Sector)

Knowmad Mood is delivering high impact technology projects and is seeking a Java Technical Lead with experience in Spec-Driven Development and Claude Code to serve as the technical lead on an AI project for a major banking client. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary profiles such as architects and developers and will have direct interaction with the client. We are looking for a senior professional with a solid software development background, real experience making architecture decisions, and the ability to lead teams and evolve complex technical solutions.

This is a hybrid position with 1 to 2 days in the Madrid office in the Barrio de Salamanca.

What you will do - Design and deliver end to end fraud prevention capabilities, actively contributing to code, testing and production deployment - Lead the squad's technical direction and architectural decisions, translating fraud business needs into maintainable, scalable solutions - Evolve the rule and decision engine based on Drools and its integrations with front end apps, internal systems, core banking and external providers - Design microservices, APIs and event driven flows using Java, Spring Boot, hexagonal architecture, modularity, resilience, idempotence and traceability - Balance new features with scalability and delivery speed with refactors, reduce technical debt and progressively rearchitect - Raise engineering standards in testing, security, observability, performance, code review and maintainability - Work via Spec Driven Development and use Clau
