We are seeking a Java Backend Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs within a modern microservices architecture. You will collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to deliver secure, reliable applications in a cloud-native environment.

Key responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, etc.) - Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs - Design, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL database models - Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications on OpenShift - Collaborate with frontend engineers (React) to ensure seamless integration - Participate in code reviews and uphold high code quality - Develop and execute unit tests and support CI practices - Troubleshoot production issues and proactively improve performance, scalability, and security - Work collaboratively in Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban)

Required skills & experience: - Proven experience in Java backend development - Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and microservices - Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL - Experience designing and developing REST APIs - Knowledge of Docker containers and OpenShift - Experience with Git - Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum and/or Kanban) - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills - Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment
