About the role
Thales is seeking a Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer with DevOps skills to join the IRIS2 program in Bucharest, Romania. The role involves configuring and administering the project environment, including on-premises container orchestration, in line with Thales software development practices, Agile methodology, and GitLab pipelines.
Responsibilities

- Maintain and manage dedicated project networks from an infrastructure perspective.
- Negotiate with stakeholders to determine the best technical implementations for customer requirements.
- Advise the engineering team on capabilities and timelines of future implementations.
- Contribute to the design of components of larger systems.
- Produce detailed architectural documentation related to existing infrastructure.
- Share knowledge and support less experienced colleagues.
- Solid virtualization skills (VMware, Virt-manager).
- Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes orchestration, and on-prem cluster administration.
- Linux administration (primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
- Networking experience in multiple project contexts.
- Scripting capabilities (shell, Python).
- Implementation of security and compliance policies and applying security patches.
- Ability to follow technical procedures and create technical documentation.
- Experience with DevOps tools: GitLab, Artifactory, Ansible, Terraform.
- CCNA and RHCSA certifications.
- Clear communication on technical issues; ability to manage incidents across multiple teams and cultures.
