The role focuses on implementing information assurance and security controls across user-facing and data center IT services, ensuring compliance with security directives, and maintaining secure operations across multiple networks and security domains. Responsibilities include acting as the representative of the Information System Security Manager to enforce IS security procedures; operating, maintaining, and disposing of information system materials per security policies and Systems Security Plans; delivering security training to ensure user awareness; initiating protective and corrective actions in response to incidents or vulnerabilities; ensuring IA hardware and software comply with configuration guides; enforcing IA policies per A&A documentation; and maintaining documentation for network infrastructure standards and monitoring results. The engineer will perform Operations & Sustainment (O&S) for the NCE network security infrastructure (firewalls, web gateways, mail gateways, IDS, load balancers, monitoring tools, management systems, etc.), conduct forensic traffic/log analysis, respond to escalated issues, and participate in testing and special projects.
