AXA Group Risk Management in Winterthur is seeking a curious, analytical Data Scientist Intern to join the team. This hands-on internship (80-100% workload) is a 12-month fixed-term position starting September 1, 2026. You will support the team in building a cutting-edge solvency reporting solution on Databricks and design and implement a modern database that transforms the current SAP-based solvency reporting, while exploring new reporting-related analysis features.

What you bring: - Strong SQL foundation (MSSQL, MySQL, etc.) with experience writing queries and understanding relational database concepts, including schema design, normalization, and query optimization - Programming proficiency in Python and/or R; ability to write production-quality code and integrate with Databricks workflows - Databricks familiarity is a plus; willingness to learn modern data engineering practices - Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a multi-cultural team; fluent in English; German is a plus
