The position primarily handles customer inquiries by phone regarding basic service connections, disconnections, billing questions, and payment arrangements, with occasional use of other communication channels. Responsibilities include processing basic transactions, resolving account issues using the online Customer Information System, and communicating accurate information to customers in a timely, professional manner. The role also involves researching discrepancies on customer accounts, verifying customer identity and addresses, and responding to potential emergency situations related to natural gas, following standardized procedures.

Minimum requirements: High school diploma or GED, and successful completion of the Customer Service Assessment demonstrating communication and customer service skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills; basic arithmetic; intermediate computer skills for data entry and retrieval. Experience with a Customer Information System is a plus.

Work conditions: Indoor environment; occasional bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning, and lifting. May require sitting for long periods.
