Varda Space Industries, Inc. is accelerating the development of commercial space infrastructure. Our mission is to expand the economic bounds of humankind by building and operating in-space systems. The Build Reliability Engineer II role partners with design engineering and manufacturing teams to right-size processes and controls to scale the production of spacecraft hardware, ensuring verified, reliable hardware at rate. You will extend contributions beyond Build Reliability to support Quality, Flight Reliability, and Mission Assurance.
Responsibilities include partnering with design engineering and manufacturing to create test, manufacturability, and inspection plans; containing suspect or non-conforming product and guiding quality inspectors, technicians, shop supervisors, and engineers; leading failure investigations in production, test, and operation; providing critical peer review during design reviews and acceptance/test campaigns; performing failure modes and effects analyses, control plans, and ensuring adequate test coverage, change management, and manufacturability of flight hardware; owning vehicle-level deliverables for regulatory compliance, functional or flight hazard analyses, and verification evidence; supporting Mission Assurance's vehicle-level risk management and mitigation tracking.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in aerospace, computer science, electrical, manufacturing, mechanical, or materials engineering; 3+ years of professional experience in aerospace, design, quality, or related engineering roles; hands-on hardware test, qualificatio
