Ocado Group is seeking an Engineering Manager 2 to lead the Robotic Hardware team responsible for developing robotic hardware for our automated warehouses. In a hybrid role based in Welwyn Garden City, England, United Kingdom, you will provide hands-on technical direction and coaching while guiding hardware from concept to production, including advanced end-of-arm tooling. You will lead a multidisciplinary hardware engineering team to realise and deliver hardware for integrated robotic picking solutions, drive the delivery of leading robotic systems in our Customer Fulfilment Centres, and collaborate with development centre leadership on recruitment, onboarding, branding, and induction processes. You will partner with product and project teams, as well as wider stakeholders, to design and deliver new robotic picking hardware, and work closely with software engineering teams to solve mechanical and mechatronic challenges. You will oversee continuous improvement of production and development systems, incorporating rapid prototyping methodologies.
