Google's Beam team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help develop the Android Platform for our new Beam devices. You will write and test product or system development code (C++/Kotlin/Java) to control Beam custom hardware peripherals such as cameras, displays, power, and thermal systems. You will participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide among technologies for Beam OS infrastructure, startup stability, and networking. You will review code, provide feedback to ensure best practices, and contribute to documentation and developer workflows. You will triage issues and debug/track/resolve them by analyzing hardware, network, or service operations impacts and by owning local networking configurations, firewall rules, and exposed ports on the device.
