About the role
Vertiv is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer for an on-site position in Austin, Texas, United States. In this role, you will drive process development and optimization, quality assurance and compliance, and cross-functional root cause analysis to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Process Development and Optimization: assess workmanship standards and inspection criteria, analyze production workflows to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement, design and implement process controls and statistical process control (SPC) methods, and develop workmanship standards, procedures, work instructions, and quality plans.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: develop and maintain FMEA documentation; monitor key quality metrics (scrap rate, first pass yield, cost of poor quality) and drive improvement initiatives.
- Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action: lead cross-functional 8D/5-Why/Fishbone (Ishikawa) investigations; facilitate cross-functional process improvement workshops and Kaizen events; track and validate the effectiveness of corrective actions through data-driven verification.
- Stakeholder Coordination and Continuous Improvement: collaborate with Manufacturing, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure process capability aligns with product specifications; share best practices with other facilities and drive improvements identified elsewhere.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or a related field.
