Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, architect, and develop native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and XAML (C++ when needed). This remote-only role is located in Oklahoma City, United States. You will establish best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase, focusing on architecture, performance, memory usage, responsive UI, cross-version compatibility (Windows 10/11+), and maintainability. You will lead accessibility efforts, ensuring UI controls, focus management, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader support. You will collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders to shape feature planning, UI/UX architecture, and the long-term roadmap for the Windows platform. You will own the full lifecycle of features—from conception through design, implementation, testing, release, and maintenance—ensuring quality, reliability, and consistency. You will identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and compatibility problems, proposing robust architectural or design solutions. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Windows desktop development using Windows App SDK/WinUI, C#, XAML, and ideally some native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM), plus a deep understanding of Windows app architecture and managed-native interop.
