About the role
Avantra is expanding its SAP Engineering team with an SAP Basis Automation Engineer to design and implement automations for SAP landscapes across on-premises and cloud environments. This role focuses on SAP Basis, automation, and observability, delivering automated solutions for customer environments.
Responsibilities
What You Bring:
- Analyze SAP software on-premises and in the cloud to design and specify new automations and observability improvements.
- Develop automations to solve SAP operations problems, including scripting and development, testing, documentation, and shipping software.
- Offer a strong product perspective on which problems to solve next, how to solve them, and what you would want if you were using Avantra to run SAP landscapes.
- Install, configure and maintain SAP software to replicate real-world cutting-edge scenarios and support the continued development of Avantra.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP technologies, best practices, and cybersecurity considerations as well as SAP-adjacent technologies.
- Apply hands-on experience with observability, automation or security tools such as SAP Solution Manager, SAP Cloud ALM, or third-party solutions.
- More than five years of experience in running and supporting SAP landscapes.
- Deep SAP Basis expertise, ideally gained in a service provider environment or across multiple SAP customers with hands-on work.
- Programming, scripting or low-code automation experience (e.g., JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, Avantra automations, or Ansible) and knowledge of Linux.
