Software Engineer (m/f/d)
We are bessr, a German AI-powered nutrition app near Schwäbisch Hall. We track meals by voice or barcode and calculate macros and over 30 micronutrients in real time, with AI-driven guidance from a German nutrition database. Core features are free and ad-free. We are a four-person EXIST-funded startup team; the app is live in Alpha. This is a startup opportunity, not a guaranteed safe side job, and we’re looking for someone who wants to join us.
Software Engineer (m/f/d)
We are bessr, a German AI-powered nutrition app near Schwäbisch Hall. We track meals by voice or barcode and calculate macros and over 30 micronutrients in real time, with AI-driven guidance from a German nutrition database. Core features are free and ad-free. We are a four-person EXIST-funded startup team; the app is live in Alpha. This is a startup opportunity, not a guaranteed safe side job, and we’re looking for someone who wants to join us.
What you’ll do: - Contribute to the product, not just the sidelines, depending on your strengths in frontend, backend, or mobile. - Work on the nutrition engine, AI guidance, and the mobile port. - Stack: React and TypeScript on the frontend, Python and FastAPI on the backend, PostgreSQL via Supabase, Gemini API with Sentence Transformers and RAG, React Native for mobile, CI/CD via GitHub Actions.
What we’re looking for: - Solid fundamentals in part of our stack, initiative, and willingness to take responsibility in an early-stage startup. - A visible project or GitHub portfolio speaks louder than grades. More importantly, you share the bessr ethos: an honest product instead of paywall tricks, and a long-term commitment to the project.
