About the role
Overview: AECOM is seeking a skilled Civil Infrastructure Project Manager / Design Manager for Rail to lead the design team within a consultancy environment in Madrid. The role focuses on the design and management of civil infrastructure projects in rail, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities
Qualifications: Location and arrangement: Madrid, Spain. This is a hybrid (mixed remote and in-office) opportunity with collaboration across regional teams.
- Lead the design process for rail infrastructure projects from planning to execution and closure.
- Manage and inspire multidisciplinary design teams; coordinate with various offices for multicenter projects.
- Oversee design stages from concept to final delivery; monitor progress, conduct design reviews, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Maintain high design quality in line with AECOM’s standards, regulations, and client specifications.
- Manage design budgets and resources to maximize efficiency and project success.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and prepare regular reports for stakeholders.
- Adhere to AECOM Project Delivery Procedures and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience, with USA and Canada experience considered an advantage.
- Extensive experience as a PM/DM on civil infrastructure projects focusing on rails.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- PMP certification is advantageous.
