The Smart Systems Hub in Dresden is an innovation center for the digital and connected industry. We bring together diverse technological and domain expertise to develop practical, prototype-ready solutions from ideas. In co-innovation projects, design sprints, hackathons, and rapid-prototyping formats, we work on concrete challenges from production and industry, combining software development, data, AI, sensor technology, hardware, and cloud technologies into functioning total systems.

Responsibilities

Develop modular, maintainable backend applications, APIs, data services and integration components with Python.
Design cloud-based software and data architectures; connect backend, data, AI, edge and cloud components into functioning systems.
Build robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for machine, sensor, image, event and time-series data.
Integrate cloud services, databases, storage and streaming technologies; ensure data quality, traceability and availability.
Analyze data, develop features and prototype data science and machine learning approaches.
Assess data quality, model performance and feasibility; implement computer vision solutions for quality control, condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
Architect hardware-software systems where cameras, sensors, edge systems, data pipelines, cloud components and AI models interact.
Collaborate with partners to produce prototypes and demonstrators in design sprints, hackathons and co-innovation projects.
Ensure quality through API design, automated testing, code reviews, version control, conta
