About the role

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer to support cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management for the U.S. Coast Guard's Digital Workplace Product Line (DWPL). The role provides high‑level engineering, technical execution, and security management to maintain federal security standards, manage vulnerabilities, and ensure enterprise workspace, mobile, and cloud environments achieve and retain authorization. This position is located in Alexandria, Virginia, and follows a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities include: supporting cyber‑risk reduction and vulnerability mitigation across enterprise hardware, cloud productivity suites, and virtual desktop environments; performing continuous scanning, patching, and exposure reduction for end‑user devices and the Digital Seabag mobile ecosystem; maintaining ATO compliance and strengthening security governance for enterprise workspace platforms and Manta Virtual Desktop (MVD) infrastructure; expanding security automation to improve resilience; collaborating with infrastructure and engineering teams to embed vulnerability mitigation and scanning tools in modern digital transformation designs; evaluating risk and documenting compliance baselines to strengthen overall system security governance within DoD secure cloud environments; participating in technical reviews to continuously analyze and mitigate vulnerabilities across physical, mobile, and virtual workplace environments; supporting automation implementation and continuous monitoring of security controls within cloud environments, including AI inte
