Versant Media is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Video Platform for Fandango at Home. You will lead the design and development of scalable identity and eCommerce systems, implementing secure authentication flows (OAuth2, OIDC) and robust payment processing lifecycles. You will diagnose complex issues across the identity and purchase funnel, optimize performance across distributed systems, and collaborate across teams to influence platform direction. This hybrid role is based in Orlando, Florida, United States with occasional in-person collaboration (~10% of the time). Qualifications include 8+ years of experience building and operating high-scale distributed systems; expert Java (multithreading, concurrency, Gradle), advanced SQL (MySQL/Aurora), NoSQL for caching and distributed data, and strong knowledge of authentication protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, JWT) as well as payment processing lifecycles and related compliance. Bonus points for full-stack experience and familiarity with real-time data systems such as Kafka and caching with Redis.
