Senior Software Engineer for Google's XR, Gaming team. This is an on-site role based in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY, United States. You will design, prototype, develop, and polish the foundational 3D interactions and user interface components for Android XR, from initial concept to a shippable product. You will develop and implement scalable systems to choreograph animations, motion, and audiovisual behaviors across the Android XR stack, ensuring a cohesive and delightful user experience. You will collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and other engineering teams to define the boundary between Android (Kotlin/Java) and our high-performance C++ graphics engine (Impress). You will optimize rendering and interaction runtimes to deliver beautiful, snappy, and responsive UI on mobile XR hardware, maintaining a high bar for performance and quality.
