Varda Space Industries is hiring a Senior Spacecraft Embedded Linux Software Engineer to join our Flight Software team in El Segundo, California. This on-site role focuses on building reliable flight software for embedded processors in C++, running on bare metal, RTOS, or Linux, to control our spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule throughout the mission lifecycle.

What you will do: - Write quality embedded software in C++ for Linux-based flight systems - Develop and own software from design through testing and integration - Contribute to requirements capture, design trades, verification, and validation - Collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure system reliability and performance
What you will bring: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering, or equivalent - 5+ years of experience developing spacecraft or safety-critical software - Proficiency in C++ with a strong understanding of language concepts
Preferred qualifications: - End-to-end spacecraft development experience - Experience with real-time embedded systems and safety-critical aerospace software - Experience with CCSDS telemetry and telecommand, F' or cFS framework - Python or Rust; knowledge of electronics; familiarity with SPI, I2C, CAN, EtherCAT
About the company and compensation: - Salary range: $169,000 - $216,000 annually - This role is on-site in El Segundo, CA - Equity incentives and relocation support are available - Benefits include comprehensive health plans, PTO, holidays, 401(k) with 6% match, and more - ITAR compliance and equal opportunity employer state
