AutoScout24 Group is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a backend engineering team powering one of the Netherlands’ largest automotive marketplaces. Based in Amsterdam, you will guide a team of about 5–6 engineers (with external support during a platform modernization) and own the core backend services, including vehicle data ingestion, business logic, data matching and quality, search ranking and listing lifecycle management, click tracking, billing logic, fraud protection, platform reliability, and incident management. The team is modernizing its backend stack, migrating from PHP/Scala to Java on AWS. You will lead, coach and develop the team; partner with Product to define priorities; drive technical excellence, engineering quality and operational maturity; lead architecture and technical decisions across multiple teams; establish strong operational practices including on-call rotations and post-incident reviews; improve system reliability, scalability and performance for a business-critical platform; coordinate complex cross-team initiatives and external dependencies; and foster a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.
