About the role
Role: Manager, Production Engineering. Based in Reno, Nevada, United States, Redwood Materials is seeking a Manager of Production Engineering to build and lead the engineering team on our Battery Materials Campus. This is an on-site role with a split work environment between the office and the production facility. The manager will lead high-visibility projects and apply technical and leadership skills to ensure timely and efficient execution. Final title and level will be determined by experience.
Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Build and lead engineering teams that partner with operations and maintenance to ensure safe, sustainable, and profitable processes.
- Use data to set strategy for optimization, debottlenecking, and improvement of industrial-scale processes.
- Define engineering workflows and plans for the team.
- Lead design concept and development efforts, working directly with engineers to vet and validate multiple proposed solutions.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to develop equipment and participate in R&D to meet strategic objectives.
- Finalize design scope from initial concepts and budgets, define initial assumptions.
- Partner with project management to identify and document milestones and deliverables.
- Monitor and measure design processes and activities to identify issues and provide corrective actions to drive resolution.
- Serve as final reviewer for all designs, ensuring simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and robustness.
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, or Metallurgical Engineering.
