Mustang Cat is hiring a Staff Accountant II to join our Accounting team at our corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas, United States. This role supports accurate financial reporting for used equipment operations, inventory accounting, and partnership accounting, including reconciliations and monthly close activities. Key responsibilities include performing accounting and reconciliation activities related to used machinery sales costing and inventory, preparing and reconciling Heavy Equipment Inventory Tax and Motor Vehicle Inventory Tax reports, reconciling accounts receivable, notes receivable, bad debt allowance, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts, maintaining records for partnership entities, analyzing monthly gross profits and expenses, preparing financial reports, identifying discrepancies, and supporting process improvements. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, at least three years of accounting experience, strong reconciliation and financial analysis skills, advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP), attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities. Preferred qualifications include experience with inventory accounting, dealership/heavy equipment or multi-location environments, knowledge of QuickBooks, and experience with partnership accounting and financial reporting.
