Landmark Credit Union is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Accounting Operations team in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This on-site position reports to the Manager of Accounting Operations. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and verifying financial transactions and provides management with financial information by researching and reconciling general ledger accounts.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

Maintain and reconcile daily financial activity to the core system and general ledger accounts.
Compile and maintain records of financial transactions, posting to, verifying, and reconciling general ledger and subsidiary accounts, applying accounting principles to balance and reconcile accounts.
Prepare daily and monthly general ledger entries and detailed reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts, identify unusual trends or erroneous entries, and verify accuracy.
Coordinate with other departments, including branches, to obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve issues.
Build relationships with credit union associates, members, and vendors, providing friendly, helpful service.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Associate’s degree in a related field and at least one year of accounting experience (equivalent combinations considered).
Solid understanding of accounting concepts and principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work with multiple systems.
