Speechify is hiring a Software Engineer to join the Data Infrastructure and Acquisition team in Riga, Latvia. This role focuses on data collection to support model training, building high-quality datasets at petabyte scale, and integrating infrastructure, engineering, and research work. You will identify new audio data sources and bring them into our ingestion pipeline, and operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for the ingestion pipeline, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform. You will collaborate with scientists to improve cost, throughput, and quality, delivering richer data at scale to power next-generation models, and work with the AI team and Speechify leadership to craft the dataset roadmap for consumer and enterprise products. An ideal candidate has a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field, 5+ years of industry software development experience, proficiency with Bash and Python on Linux, Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code, and professional experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP preferred). Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus, and strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
