Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Data Infrastructure & Acquisition focus of our AI team. This role covers all aspects of data collection to support model training, enabling high-quality datasets at petabyte scale with low cost through a tight integration of infrastructure, engineering, and research. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software development experience and proficiency with Bash and Python in Linux, Docker, and Infrastructure-as-Code, plus experience with at least one major cloud provider (we use GCP).

What you'll do: - Develop and expand sources of audio data and bring them into our ingestion pipeline. - Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline (GCP), managed with Terraform. - Collaborate with scientists to improve cost, throughput, and data quality for next-generation models. - Help craft the AI Team's dataset roadmap to power speech products for consumer and enterprise use.

An ideal candidate should have: - BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field. - 5+ years of industry software development experience. - Proficiency with Bash/Python in Linux. - Proficiency with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code; experience with at least one major cloud provider (we use GCP). - Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities. - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
