Speechify is hiring for the Data track of its AI team. The Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition role owns all aspects of data collection to support model training. You will build high-quality datasets at petabyte scale and low cost through tight integration of infrastructure, engineering, and research. This position is based in Lviv, Ukraine and is fully remote, as Speechify operates a 100% distributed workforce with no offices.

What you’ll do - Identify and ingest new audio data sources into our ingestion pipeline - Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for the ingestion pipeline (currently on GCP) and manage with Terraform - Collaborate with data scientists to optimize cost, throughput, and data quality to power next-generation models - Partner with the AI Team and leadership to shape the dataset roadmap for Speechify’s consumer and enterprise products

An ideal candidate should have - BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field - 5+ years of industry experience in software development - Proficiency with Bash and Python in Linux environments - Proficiency with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code; professional experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (GCP) - Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus - Strong multi-tasking and communication skills
