Social Media Copywriter (Contract)

This is a remote contract role with Future Caucus, a national, nonpartisan nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the next generation of elected leaders. The Social Media Copywriter will produce polished, on-brand social media copy that complements the organization's video content, earned media coverage, and stories of young lawmakers across the United States. Reports to the Senior Manager, Digital Content.

Key details: - Part-time contract (~20 hours per week) for six months, with possibility for renewal. - Compensation: $4,500–$6,000 per month, depending on experience. - Start date: early September. - Location: Remote, United States. Core hours: 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. ET, Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

Write social media captions for Future Caucus video content across X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook in alignment with brand voice and content calendar.
Review long-form video to identify short clips for social media; draft posts promoting earned media and events.
Contribute copy to the organization’s newsletter as needed.
Assist in developing and codifying Future Caucus’ brand voice with the communications team.
Ensure copy adheres to AP style and the organization’s guidelines.
Coordinate with the Senior Manager, Digital Content on priorities and deadlines; be available during core hours.
4+ years of professional copywriting experience, including social media copy for organizations, campaigns, or brands.
Strong portfolio showing versatility across multiple organizational voices.
