Apple is seeking a Simulation Generative Data Engineer to help develop next-generation simulation technology powering AI/ML efforts. The role focuses on building simulations to test and evaluate systems and generating synthetic data used across the organization to advance Apple product development. The engineer will collaborate with engineers, technical artists, animators, and researchers to deliver data and tools that scale and improve the quality of simulation and scenario generation. Key responsibilities include developing production-grade simulation tools and datasets, iterating from prototype to robust implementation, and contributing to cross-functional teams. Qualifications include a Master's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience; strong Python programming and software engineering fundamentals; experience creating 3D data with generative models and familiarity with USD APIs; experience with 3D graphics or game engines (Unreal, Unity, Godot, Omniverse, etc.); ability to work with cross-functional partners; strong communication skills. Preferred qualifications include C++, real-time simulation and game engines, rendering, ray tracing, MaterialX, machine learning workflows, perception tasks, generative models or VLMs, physics/sensor simulation, and experience with large-scale data pipelines.
